Teaching Online Math Courses

In this webinar, Dr. Latrice Bowman of the University of Alaska Fairbanks will share her expertise on teaching both synchronous and asynchronous online math courses. 

Dr. Bowman will present on teaching methods that she has found to work well in the online learning environment and tools that are useful to deliver online courses. She will recommend tools that are easy to set up for those looking to quickly transition courses or teaching for the first time virtually, as well as advanced options for those with more experience in online education.

Discussion topics will include online and written homework, exams and proctoring, collaboration and communication with students, and more. Live Q&A will follow the presentation to offer guidance for instructors teaching online.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Latrice Bowman has a master’s in applied mathematics and a doctorate in online education. She has lived in Alaska for about 35 years and enjoys the challenges and experiences that come with living there. Dr. Bowman has been teaching and working at the University of Alaska Fairbanks for a little over 20 years – 14 of those with online and distance education. She has taught almost every undergraduate mathematics course, and many of those have been online. Dr. Bowman is a Hawkes Learning Certified Instructor.
