As students become overwhelmed with reading and writing in the online course format, videos have become increasingly important.
In this session, Dr. Shawna Hudson of Iowa Wesleyan University will show you how to connect with students in asynchronous courses by creating short videos with ease, even if you have no technology background or have never created a video before! Dr. Hudson will demonstrate how to use a free software, although a premium version is available for those who fall in love with it. At the end, she will discuss how to provide students the option of creating short videos for their work throughout the school year.

Currently a professor at Iowa Wesleyan University, Dr. Shawna Hudson is a veteran of education having served as a teacher, principal, and teacher trainer for over 25 years. As an advocate for education as a form of social justice, Dr. Hudson is passionate about serving students and making courses equitable and accessible.
