With over 15 years of experience in math education, Seminole State College’s Professor Emily Carpenter worked to enact four relevant math pathways and implement dynamic face-to-face and online corequisite math courses.

Learn about her mission to ensure Seminole State College students complete their general education math course in one semester while exploring math pertinent to their fields of study. Professor Carpenter will share the details of what these courses look and feel like. This webinar covers the who, what, when, where, and why of Seminole State College’s corequisite math classroom setups in both face-to-face and online formats.

About the Presenter: Professor Emily Carpenter has been an educator for over 15 years with experience ranging from early childhood education to higher education. Most recently, she has had the privilege of teaching various math courses at Seminole State College (SSC) in rural Oklahoma where she also serves as the Transitional Math Coordinator. With a master’s degree from Oklahoma State University in special education, she is passionate about the exciting transition to corequisite classes as SSC continues to strive to provide rigor yet equity in their mathematics courses. Professor Carpenter is a Hawkes Learning Certified Instructor.
