Addressing Individual Differences in Teaching Mathematics

This session by Professor Solomon Willis of Cleveland Community College will focus on engaging students to help them be successful with learning math. Professor Willis will address individual differences such as gender and disabilities, as well as teaching strategies and motivations including use of the TI-84 Graphing Calculator. In addition, he will share his interactive class activities for statistical topics.

Professor Solomon Willis has been teaching math for twenty-one years. He recently finished an Ed.S. degree in Mathematics Education through Nova Southeastern University and is currently working towards an Ed.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Liberty University. His experience includes teaching anything from Algebra 1 in middle-school to Calculus 2 in college. He is a big proponent of using active learning and technology in the classroom.
