In this presentation, Dr. Dong Xie of the University of Central Arkansas will discuss and identify various ways to effectively integrate recent psychological research in teaching. In most cases, recent research on subject matter is only included in recently published textbooks. Dr. Xie will explore why it is important for instructors to integrate recent studies on the subject matter they teach beyond those included only in the textbooks.

About the Presenter:
Dr. Dong Xie earned his bachelor and master’s degrees in psychology in China and his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Ohio State University in 2004. He has been teaching at the Department of Psychology and Counseling at University of Central Arkansas since then. Dr. Xie’s research interests include cross-cultural research on psychological distress.
