In this presentation, Professor Ira Robbin of South Connecticut State University will discuss and demonstrate how to build sharp-looking questions using Hawkes’ Question Builder, EXCEL, and LaTeX. Professor Robbin will share the basics to building questions, as well as a few tricks. He will end the session by modeling how to build a couple of questions from scratch.

About the Presenter:
Ira Robbin is an Assistant Professor in the Math Department at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) in New Haven. He graduated as a Math major from Michigan State and got his PhD in Math from Rutgers. He has taught Statistics, College Algebra, and Business Math courses at SCSU. Prior to that, he had a long career at several large property and casualty insurance and reinsurance companies including Trans Re, AIG, Endurance, Partner Re, ACE, and CIGNA. He is an Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS). He has written numerous actuarial articles and he has articles on the CAS Exam Syllabus. He has constructed a dozen or so of his own Statistics questions in Hawkes.
