In this webinar, authors Carolyn Warren Wiley, Kim Denley, and Emily Atchley will discuss the new edition of their book Beginning Statistics.
The third edition of Beginning Statistics features expanded exercise sets with real-world data, a modernized methodology for hypothesis testing, an emphasis on technology, and the ability to use different methodologies to arrive at correct answers.
About the Presenters:

Carolyn Warren Wiley holds an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi and has completed advanced graduate work in statistics and mathematics education at The University of Mississippi and the University of Memphis. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Education at Delta State University. Mrs. Wiley is the Associate Vice President of Academic Instruction and Institutional Effectiveness at Northwest Mississippi Community College. She is an active member of institutional research organizations at the state, regional, and national level, including having held the office of President in both the Mississippi Association for Institutional Research and the Council for Institutional Research and Effectiveness for the Mississippi Community College Board. She won the Mississippi online instructor of the year in 2010 for her courses in statistics at Northwest Mississippi Community College. She is an avid knitter and loves time at home with her husband and family.

Kim Denley received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from Louisiana College and did her graduate work at Louisiana State University. Along with Beginning Statistics, she is co-author of Viewing Life Mathematically, A Pathway to Quantitative Literacy. She enjoyed her time as a mathematics instructor, teaching statistics, quantitative reasoning and developmental mathematics throughout her career. Mrs. Denley currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Tristan.

Emily Atchley holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from the University of Mississippi. During her postgraduate work she was selected as a National Science Foundation GK-12 fellow, a program designed to enhance math and science education in the local schools. Mrs. Atchley was a mathematics instructor at Ole Miss for many years, where she served as course coordinator for the freshman statistics classes. Mrs. Atchley currently lives in Oxford, MS, with her husband Peyton and their 4 children, and she tutors university students part time.
