How to Set Up Hawkes-Compatible Online Proctoring Solutions

ProctorU

If your institution or department currently uses ProctorU, simply contact your ProctorU Representative and have them add Hawkes to their LMS environment to be supported.

If your institution does NOT have this proctoring solution available, contact us for assistance.

Proctorio

  1. Link your LMS gradebook to Hawkes
  2. Create a quiz within your LMS
  3. Add one question to the LMS quiz that contains a link to Hawkes courseware through Deep Linking or Single Sign-On.
    • The linked question can be as simple as “TRUE or FALSE: I completed my Hawkes Exam”
    • Make sure that the Hawkes courseware opens in a new tab. If there is a setting for this, ensure that it is enabled.
    • NOTE: Some LMS platforms allow you to create a question that does not require an answer
  4. Proctoring is ready at this point, and everything will submit properly as long as the student submits the LMS test.

HonorLock – Requires Google Chrome

  1. Create a quiz within your LMS
  2. Add one question to the LMS quiz that contains a link to Hawkes courseware through Deep Linking, Single Sign-On, or learn.hawkeslearning.com.
  3. If desired, you may set HonorLock to automatically enter Hawkes WebTest passwords. This adds an extra layer of testing security by never providing students with the WebTest password.
  4. Proctoring is ready at this point, and everything will submit properly as long as the student submits the LMS test.

Zoom (Free!)

  1. Schedule a meeting in Zoom.
  2. Have students join the meeting via provided meeting link.
  3. Once the Zoom meeting is live, select the Share Screen option at the bottom of the meeting window.
  4. From the drop-down menu, select Multiple participants can share simultaneously.
    • Ensure that under Advanced Options, all participants can share their screen at all times, not just the host.
  5.  Have all students share their screen and begin proctoring.
